Walter Berns
Walter Berns (1919-2015) was a student of Leo Strauss at the University of Chicago. He taught at Louisiana State University, Yale, Cornell, and the University of Toronto before moving to Washington, D.C. in 1979, to teach at Georgetown and conduct research at the American Enterprise Institute. His publications include Freedom, Virtue, and the First Amendment (Greenwood Publishing Group, 1970). Berns was a recipient of the National Humanities Medal.
